There is a relatively small and very unique group of professionals within the graphic design arena primarily consisting of designers born during the 1960s. This because they were the generation who experienced the greatest paradigm shift in the design and publishing world since Gutenberg invented moveable type. Computerized design exploded in the 1980s and set off an incredible revolution that changed the world forever! For those born before the 60s the transition to digital was very difficult as they had already spent years entrenched in the old ways wherein each area of design was a separate discipline, carried out by a separate specialist in separate departments. The computer made this separation no longer necessary, liberating designers to be able to instantly manifest the ideas within their imagination without having to wait hours or days for each specialist's particular piece of the end product.Those born after the 60s would not have the advantage of experiencing the fundamentals of modern day design and publishing because their careers began when computers had already become firmly established as the standard within the profession, thus limiting their expertise to only digital design. Conversely, designers who were born during the 60s were in the unique position of just beginning their professional careers in the 1980s when this reformation took place and they straddled the transition between the two worlds, allowing them the unparalleled knowledge and skill to apply their "best of both worlds" experiences to all of their future endeavors. Mike Bennett is a member of this "born in the 60s" generation and is equally skilled in both design disciplines.
